The actual capabilities of a car (or a beer or a burger) has nothing to do with whether a pretty female is present or not. But it has everything to do with creating an association of desirability to a male audience to which a particular ad is targeted.

The same concept broadly applies when we make memes. The memes use imagery to get people's attention, to underscore the text, to add context, and above all to create visual associations with the messages. If we decide not to recognize that as fact and not act upon it, we give up part of the leverage that our memes can potentially have.
