His story does not mesh on any level and he is another Manning, a traitor who needs to be treated as such. I put forth yesterday that E5 is a military rank but it also completely crossed my mind that E-5 is also the DoD designation for the Naval Echelon 5.
I did not have such clearance to know much about them when I served but the generally agreed upon service member belief is E5 is a Naval unit consisting mainly of Navy Seal active duty members who work on level as the Army's Delta Force for high risk scenarios but are, at the same time, high level technological experts which differs them from Delta.
In 1999 the only mention of them came up during my time when the rumor was they painted the screen for the patriot missile attack in Afghanistan and that they run on a type of fifth freedom like basis where they have complete autonomy in terms of mission. Whether any of that is true I have no idea but what I do know is 100% true is E5 is the abbreviation for them within the DOD.
