I think Trump was demonstrating that he's not irrationally against CNN and doesn't see fake news everywhere always. He calls out fake news when it's fake, which is CNN most of the time. Whereas liberals illogically and vehemently hate certain people, ideas, events, or things, we're against what is evil and false. This doesn't mean Acosta is our friend, he's still our enemy, but maybe it's also encouragement to journalists to report the truth.
