As we work to red pill our family and friends, words and meanings matter. This is why Constitutional originalists on the Supreme Court is so very important.
Nomenclature has become corrupted by design and logical discussion becomes nearly impossible. Nelson Hultberg and others bring us back to something we can understand by placing different forms of government/ideology on a spectrum with "big" government residing on the left, and zero government (chaotic anarchy which soon wraps back around to the left) residing on the far right.
No matter the name attributed to big government systems on the left, the common denominator is that powerful people 'up there' dictate the lives of the little people 'down here.' There are a bunch of names for what resides on the big government left: socialism, marxism, fascism, monoarchy, communism, dictators, Naziism, corportocracy, oligarchy, etc: Collectivism, in a word.
We all recognize that for an orderly society, we need some government. We need to be somewhere in the middle of the spectrum. In that middle ground, government must be restrained from riding rough shod over individual sovereignty. Our Founders in the US knew what they were doing by establishing a Republic, a nation of laws, with some of the most important laws aimed squarely at the government itself. The Constitution says "Government, you can only do this and this. You shall not do this or this.
And in case they didn't get it, the Founders wrote the beautiful Bill of Rights just to clarify: Government, you shall not infringe on the right to free speech; You shall not infringe on the right to bear arms; You shall not do illegal search and seizure…….etc. 'on up the the 10th Amendment that says, If we forgot anything government, you can't do that either."
