Morning Baker!! My WorkFag story for the day:

So, I oversee the finances & accounting for 4 companies owned by 1 person… Bossman says he wants everything split in 1/2 as either entity may be sold individually and if so wants to pick up other half and walk out the door.

Me: "Ok, no problem - purchase separate non network stand alone computer, get copy of QB Desktop & install" - other company has outgrown current version of QB, too many customers. Me: "Ok, no problem upgrade QB to higher version to continue to move forward"

So yesterday was the big day that it would all be finally pulled apart and endgame would be achieved. Me: "Easy-Peasy, just export company files and install on new setup" - New Setup: "This file may only be opened in higher version of QB that you recently upgraded to and this is permanent and non reversible.

Me: "Fuck!!"

So I spend some time doing research on the www yesterday and it appears that there is a workaround. Get 30 day free trial version of QB Online, upload data to online - export file out of online to a QB desktop version and viola!! Install on new setup with QB desktop version & cancel the 30 day free trial so I am not charged!!

McDumblefuck is QuickBooks, at least in my world.

Hope you have a great day, wish me luck!! Person who hired me, nailed it yesterday. Said "If it would have been that easy, you would be bored" . Truth, LOL

Thanks Baker, will need the luck am afraid. Apparently the workaround is complicated & recommended to be done by a pro… We will see ( I am not going down that easy, Kek ) I will probably check in and keep you company some today, installs can be time consuming & boring.
