First, you should never run anything less than 91 octane in a small engine. The fuel deposits with ethanol sit in the carburetor on small engines, and that's replacement #1 with a small engine that is not turning over properly. Second, I can see Briggs and Stratton, for example, begin manufacturing flex fuel small engines that can handle the shit ethanol fuel for mass distribution in things like lawn mowers, pressure washers, go karts, atvs, etc. If you thought ethanol was simple an augmentation plan for corn farmers, think again. Ethanol's purpose is to see just how far we can push the internal combustion engine to stave off the use of "fossil" fuels.

 

The Chinese manufacturers had best keep up with this trend, else people will simply stop buying their products due to rampant failure issues due to American fuels.
