Kanye was born in Atlanta, GA. The use of Sir and Ma'am is commonly taught to children as the way to address adults. When I found myself in the South with a family, I had to quickly address this issue. It is a way of life in the South. I imagine Kanye has not dropped this part of his upbringing.
