I was talking with a black fellow (a bus driver) the other day, and he thought "stop and frisk" targeted everyone black, not suspicious toughs. That they would frisk a hobbling 70 year old man the same as a young tough with his hands in his pockets. He agrees that black neighborhoods are dangerous and didn't like my idea that if cops can't enforce in those neighborhoods and the community didn't want them, they could just back off. So he does want the enforcement in those dangerous black neighborhoods.

He just wants stop and frisk to be used for risk reduction, not power trips. I told him I would be surprised if most of it was power trip, but that's what he thinks.
