In June, 2015, Maryland Governor Hogan announced he had cancer, a "very advanced and very aggressive cancer that has spread throughout his body". I remember the press conference- they acted like he was days away from death. By November, he was "100% cancer-free". The news acted like it was no big deal.

I wonder if cures are used as blackmail. 'Vote this way or that experimental drug you are taking may suddenly become unavailable.'
