I don't like ethanol in my gas, too…but
Some of the ethanol support is to insulate U.S. ethanol producers from foreign competition…10 Billion approx in subsidizes, farmers can't switch crops just like that…etc. Sugar is also subidized, etc. You would lose a large voting block ending any of these right before midterms. We subsidize our politicians with more benefits than our farmers.
