Many do not know that half of the American Jewish male population of fighting age (18 to 50 years old) enlisted and took to arms to fight in the Second World War regardless of where they were to be stationed.http://jpfo.org/
The American Jew as Patriot, Soldier and Citizen"
This 1895 directory of Jewish-American Civil War veterans has been made into a database and can be searched online.
In December, 1891, there appeared in the North American Review a letter in reply to certain statements of a contributor to a previous number of the same magazine regarding the services of American Jewish citizens as soldiers in the Civil War.
It must be taken into account that when the War of the Rebellion broke out the number of Jews in the United States was quite limited; according to the census taken in 1876 by Mr. William B. Hackenburg, of Philadelphia, and myself, in behalf of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations, there were then in the United States, fifteen years after the war commenced, only 250,000 Jews. It is altogether doubtful whether there were more than 150,000, if that many, when hostilities commenced.
The proportion of Jewish soldiers is, therefore, only large, but is perhaps larger than that of any other faith in the United States. I have been told by one of the Jewish soldiers in this city, one who bears the scars of the war, that there were at least, as far as he could judge–and he had experience during the whole conflict–from 6,000 to 8,000 soldiers of the Jewish faith in the Union Army alone.
During the course of World War II, 550,000 Jewish men and women served in the armed forces of the United States. (Another 1 million Jews served in other Allied forces - 500,000 in the Soviet Army, 100,000 in Polish Military and 30,000 in British Army.)
Jewish servicemembers accounted for 4.23 percent of all soldiers in the U.S. Armed Forces.
About 60 percent of all Jewish physicians in the United States under 45 years of age served in the military.
22 Jews attained senior rank in the armed forces - 18 generals, 6 major generals, 12 brigadier generals,1 vice admiral, 2 rear admirals and 1 commodore.
The total number of Jewish war casualties was 38,338 - 11,000 were killed, 7,000 of which occured in combat.
Approximately 26,000 Jewish men and women in uniform received citations for valor and merit. The number of awards totaled 49,315, including 66 Distinguished Service Crosses, 28 Navy Crosses, 41 Distinguished Service Medals, 244 Legions of Merit, 1,434 Silver Stars, 2,047 Distinguished Flying Crosses, 191 Soldier's Medals, 28 Navy and Marine Corps Medals, 4,641 Bronze Star Medals, 13,212 Air Medals and 14,550 Purple Hearts.
3 Jewish soldiers were awarded the military's highest distinction, the Congressional Medals of Honor - Ben Salomon, Isadore S. Jachman, and Raymond Zussman
President Franklin D. Roosevelt praised the fighting abilities and service of Jewish men and women. General Douglas MacArthur in one of his speeches said, “I am proud to join in saluting the memory of fallen American heroes of Jewish faith.” At the 50th National Memorial Service conducted by the Jewish War Veterans of the United States, General A. A. Vandergrift, Commandant, U.S. Marine Corps, said, “Americans of Jewish faith in the Marine Corps have served with distinction throughout the prosecution of this war. During the past year, many Jewish fighting men in our armed forces have given their lives in the cause of freedom. With profound sympathy and respect, I join you in paying homage to them at this memorial service.
When I become president the days of treating Israel like a second-class citizen will end on day one. Thank you; and when I say something I mean it. I mean it. I will meet with Prime Minister Netanyahu immediately. I have known him for many years and will be able to work closely together to help bring stability and peace to Israel and to the entire region. Meanwhile, every single day you have rampant incitement and children being taught to hate Israel and to hate the Jews. It has to stop. When you live in a society where the firefighters are the heroes, little kids want to be firefighters. When you live in a society where athletes and movie stars are the heroes, little kids want to be athletes and movie stars. In Palestinian society the heroes are those who murdered Jews. We can't let this continue. We can't let this happen any longer. You cannot achieve peace if terrorists are treated as martyrs. Glorifying terrorists is a tremendous barrier to peace. It is a horrible, horrible way to think. It's a barrier that can't be broken; that will end and it'll end soon; believe me.
In Palestinian textbooks and mosques, you've got a culture of hatred that has been fermenting there for years, and if we want to achieve peace they've got to go out and they've got to start this educational process, they have to end education of hatred; they have to end it and now. There is no moral equivalency: Israel does not name public squares after terrorist; Israel does not pay its children to stab random Palestinians.
Even in the present day, when human rights abuses around the world make a mockery of impartial justice, the Torah remains a beacon of light, insisting that all people – regardless of station – are to be judged the same: “You shall not commit a perversion of justice; you shall not favor the poor and you shall not honor the great; with righteousness shall you judge your fellow” (Leviticus 19:15).
Palestinian-Arabs, who are citizens of Israel and are commonly known as Arab-Israelis, enjoy the same rights and privileges as any other Israeli citizen whether Christian, Muslim, Jewish, or otherwise. Israeli citizens have a very high quality of life and are amongst the happiest peoples on the planet.
Palestinian-Arabs, who voluntarily reject Israeli citizenship, enjoy most of the same privileges as citizens, but not exactly the same. Other non-citizens enjoy the same nationalized healthcare program, services, and benefits as Palestinian-Arab non-citizens.
This is nothing short of remarkable considering that so many Palestinian-Arabs gave declared open genocide and fanatical hatred of all of their non-Muslim neighbors.
Israel has three water sources: Lake Kinneret, the Mountain Aquifer and the Coastal Aquifer. It also has KKL-JNF, which has been working for many years to support the Israeli water economy through building and developing alternative water sources.
KKL-JNF has been building reservoirs for several years. They benefit the water systems, the environment, agriculture and the economy in the most practical ways.
Israel develped a chemical-free system using porous lava stone to capture the microorganisms before they reach the membranes. It’s just one of many breakthroughs in membrane technology that have made desalination much more efficient. Israel now gets 55 percent of its domestic water from desalination, and that has helped to turn one of the world’s driest countries into the unlikeliest of water giants.

“For me, respect and reverence for Judaism is personal. My daughter Ivanka and my son-in-law Jared are raising their children in the Jewish faith, always reminding me the important values and lessons we learn about leadership, resolve and families in Jewish tradition,” Trump says in the video, referring to his eldest daughter, who underwent an Orthodox conversion before marrying real estate magnate and newspaper publisher Jared Kushner in 2010.
“My administration will stand side by side with the Jewish people and Israel’s leaders to continue strengthening the bridges that connect not only Jewish Americans and Israelis, but also all Americans and Israelis. Together, we will stand up to the enemies like Iran {Persia} bent on destroying Israel and her people. Together, we will make America and Israel safe again.
