Grassley just released a letter from the State Dept. with an update on its review of Clinton-era officials' handling of classified material. Hillary Clinton's security clearance was withdrawn on. Aug. 30 at her request, according to the letter

Seems strange that the FBI would promise to destroy those laptops, doesn't it?

FBI no doubt has access to a squazillion square feet of evidence storage space.

Even my dog would point at this case having the potential of reaching warp speed within a few years.

Ah well. Like the man says, "these people are stupid".

I can imagine somebody at FBI having a hallway conversation something along the lines of "just tell them SOMETHING, just need to pacify them for a while".

So much of this massive shitstorm is unprecedented that I think we'll see plenty of proof that people are just making it up as they go. It's not as if there are written procedures and policies for some of it.

Thoughts on when Hillary would have originally been given security clearance?

It must have been years and years ago.

She's been:

1) Wife of Gov. of Arkansas, then

2) First Lady (do they automatically receive clearance?)

3) Senator from NY

4) Secretary of State

I would assume her clearance level would have been raised when she went from Senator to State.

Do all US Senators have the identical clearance level?
