TN - Two Men Charged for Raping 9-Month-Old Baby and Filming the Act

It was an unimaginably horrific and vicious, if not evil, act: two men from Tennessee raped a nine-month-old baby and even filmed the attack on a mobile phone.

The horrified mother learned of what was done to her baby when she saw the video herself. The crime happened two years ago, but it’s only that the suspects will be made to answer for their crime after investigators have finally determined their identities.

The two men are facing charges for the rape of the poor baby girl and for horrifically filming the attack. The suspects have been identified as 19-year-old Isiah Dequan Hayes and 22-year-old Daireus Jumare Ice.

The attack took place in Shelby, Tennessee in 2016. The suspects were arrested after the horrified mom identified them from the video. The mother was able to identify Hayes using social media.

Hayes also known as “Zay” was arrested last week.

Hayes identified Ice in a statement to the police as the one who filmed his horrific acts against the baby.

Authorities say the video showed a man naked from below the waist touched himself while near the baby. Hayes admitted to molesting the baby when he was arrested in February.

It took some time for the police to file charges against the two men because they first had to fully determine it was Hayes in the deplorable video, and that Ice recorded the footage.

Hayes was also indicted on a charge of aggravated rape of a child. Ice, on the other hand, was also indicted for being criminally responsible for the conduct of another person in the aggravated rape of a child.

It is not clear how the suspects are related to the baby’s mother, and what they were doing at that time with the baby, and how they managed to clear close to her.

5-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Assaulted in School Bathroom, Transgender Policy Being Investigated

A five-year-old girl allegedly was sexually assaulted at school in the girls’ bathroom by a boy who identifies as gender-fluid, sparking an investigation by the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) into the Decatur, Georgia school’s transgender bathroom policy.

According to a legal complaint by Roger G. Brooks of the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) and Vernadette R. Broyles of Georgia Adoption & Family Law Practice, the boy, who was also five years old, reportedly assaulted the girl as she was leaving a bathroom stall at Oakhurst Elementary School in November 2017.

“As [Victim] was emerging from a stall, the Assailant pushed her against a wall, pushed his hand between her legs, and repeatedly felt and poked at her genitals … while she struggled and called out for him to stop,” reads the legal complaint, dated May 22, 2018. “No one came to help.”

The boy had permission to enter the girls’ bathroom under a policy that “required” schools to “admit boys who identify as female into girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, and shower areas on school premises,” according to the legal complaint.

Prior to the 2016-2017 school year, boys were not permitted to enter restrooms for girls. However, in a July 26, 2016 email, the Superintendent of the City Schools of Decatur, David Dude, told school staff members that students should be permitted to use the restrooms that matched their gender identities.

“To be clear, here are some examples of situations related to gender identity and how I expect them to be handled in compliance with this policy,” Dude wrote. “For purpose of these examples, assume this student was assigned the sex of male at birth, and now identifies as female.”

“This student should be treated the same as any female student…. She should be allowed to use the female restroom,” Dude wrote.

Dude “did not disclose this email to parents in the District,” according to the legal complaint. Parents of the Decatur school system were therefore largely unaware of the new bathroom policy.

While the girl did not mention her assault to anyone during the rest of the school day, she complained to her mother, Pascha Thomas, that evening about vaginal pain and, “after some questioning,” told Thomas what had happened.

GOP rep introduces ‘Build the Wall, Enforce the Law’ bill, as ‘big fight’ over immigration looms

A top Republican representative has introduced a bill that would fully fund President Donald Trump’s long-sought border wall, as Republicans gear up for a battle over the issue after midterm elections, according to The Hill.

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy introduced the “Build the Wall, Enforce the Law Act,” which would make $5.5 billion in border wall funding available immediately and allocate $23.4 billion overall.

“For decades, America’s inability to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration has encouraged millions to undertake a dangerous journey to come here in violation of our laws and created huge loopholes in the legal channels we use to welcome immigrants to our country,” McCarthy said.

How would it work?

The bill would take funding from the Department of Homeland Security’s budget, which means significant cuts would have to be made to fund it.

More than $16 billion of that total amount would pay for physical barriers, while the rest would “cover technology, operations and other infrastructure costs” according to The Hill.

The amount would bring funding up to the $25 billion Trump has asked for from Congress for the wall. So far, Congress only appropriated $1.6 billion for border security.

“President Trump’s election was a wake-up call to Washington,” McCarthy said. “The American people want us to build the wall and enforce the law.”

The bill, according to McCarthy’s statement, also “combats sanctuary cities, transnational gangs like MS-13, human trafficking, and deadly drugs like fentany” and supports Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

What’s next?

Congressional Republicans have worked to avoid a government shutdown in advance of midterms, preferring instead to throw down over the border wall in December.

“We intend on having a full-fledged discussion about how to complete this mission of securing our border and we will have a big fight about it,” said House Speaker Paul Ryan. “We’ll figure out how to do it in December.”

McCarthy is seeking to replace Ryan as Speaker of the House when Ryan steps down at the end of the year.
