The plane in the photo was a museum type display on a post. It was knocked down and flipped over by the wind. They moved every plane possible before the hurricane hit, but this storm gave very little warning that it was coming. This is a base where planes are repaired. Some of the planes were inside hangers, taken apart in pieces, and could not be flown off the base. With such little warning for the storm, these planes could not be repaired or transported before the storm hit. The hangers are so severely damaged that no one has been able to go inside the hangers and check on the condition of those planes.
