Senator Jeff Merkley (D-OR) joined several far left leaders who believe the solution to Republican dominance is more unhinged behavior and antics.

Merkley, a far left senator from Oregon, filed a restraining order against Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell earlier this month to stop the senate vote on Brett Kavanaugh.

Now Merkley wants the Department of Justice to press perjury charges against Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

This is the modern day Democrat Party at work.

Merkeley made the comments during a conversation with “Deconstructed Live.”

Mehdi Hassan: Jeff Merkley, it’s less likely that Democrats are going to win the Senate, but even if you do, you’re not going to have the two-thirds super majority that you need to impeach a Supreme Court justice. Sen. Jeff Merkley: Well, let’s start with the proposition that the Justice Department could obviously under a different leader than President Trump, proceed to pursue felony charges against Brett Kavanaugh for perjury before the US Senate.

Mehdi Hassan: And would you be pushing for that from the Senate?

Sen. Jeff Merkley: Absolutely and we really have to wrestle with the court because, here is the situation – the court is no longer a panel of wise, individuals weighing the provisions of the constitution against each other. It is now the most powerful legislative body and it is a legislative body controlled by and for the powerful rather than by and for the people. And if we don’t take on the issues of gerrymandering, if we don’t take on the issues of voter suppression, dark money in campaigns, then we’re going to lose forever more to the one percent and the court’s right at the heart of all those key issues.

Riyadh threatens retaliation for 'actions' against it over missing journalist

Saudi Arabia has rejected any threats against it over the disappearance of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi, once again declaring its innocence and saying it will respond to any actions with “greater actions.”

“The Kingdom affirms its total rejection of any threats and attempts to undermine it, whether by threatening to impose economic sanctions, using political pressures, or repeating false accusations,” the official Saudi Press Agency quoted an unnamed government source as saying.

“The Kingdom also affirms that if it receives any action, it will respond with greater action, and that the Kingdom's economy has an influential and vital role in the global economy,” the source added.

Sunday’s comments come just two days after US President Donald Trump warned that Riyadh would face “severe punishment” if it was found guilty of ordering the death of Khashoggi. He noted, however, that he would be unlikely to cancel the major arms deal between the two countries, stating that there would be “other ways of punishing” the government. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also stated that his country will be holding onto its $15 billion arms deal with Riyadh, despite the concerns surrounding Khashoggi.

However, Senator Marco Rubio (R-Florida) says the US must take action against Saudi Arabia - including potentially regarding arms sales - if the allegations are proven true. Otherwise, the US risks losing credibility when it comes to human rights, he told CBS' Face the Nation on Sunday. His comments come after a bipartisan group of senators also proposed imposing sanctions on Riyadh over the matter. Trump's words led to a plunge of Saudi Arabia's stock market, in a possible foreshadowing of what could take place if countries take action against Riyadh in the form of sanctions.

Khashoggi, a critic of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and the Saudi royal family, was last seen on October 2 when he entered the Saudi consulate in Istanbul to get documents for his forthcoming marriage.

Turkey believes he was murdered inside the building by a 15-person “assassination squad,” with the government saying it has video and audio evidence proving he was killed at the consulate. However, it has not publicly presented that information.

Is Secretary James Mattis on his way out? Trump responds to the rumors, drops shock admission.

President Donald Trump dismissed on Sunday rumors that Defense Secretary James Mattis is close to leaving his administration.

Trump’s comments came during an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes.” The pre-taped interview is set to air Sunday evening and touched on a wide-range of issues, including the recent disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

What did Trump say?

When pressed about consistent rumors that Mattis is close to submitting his resignation, Trump responded: “Well, I don’t know. He hasn’t told me that.”

“I have a very good relationship with him. I had lunch with him two days ago. I have a very good relationship with him,” Trump explained.

“It could be that he is. I think he is sort of a Democrat if you want to know the truth. But General Mattis is a good guy. We get along very well,” he added

The president when on to downplay the seriousness of officials departing his administration saying “everybody leaves,” calling the proverbial revolving-door a textbook characteristic of Washington.

There have been consistent rumors all summer that Mattis is nearing the end of his tenure as Trump’s defense secretary. It has even been said that Trump considered removing Mattis after the midterms, but both Mattis and Trump have vehemently denied the rumors.

Still, even if Mattis left, it would not be a sign of further discord inside the White House. Officials come and go nearly every day, including top-level officials. Nikki Haley announced her resignation as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations last week. She left on her own terms, most likely for personal reasons outside of her official duties. It’s clear, given the amicable relationship between Haley and Trump, that she did not leave due to dysfunction.

Busted: Democrat Sen. Bill Nelson ‘Hurricane Relief’ Link Re-Directs to Democrat Fundraising Page

Democrat Senator Bill Nelson of Florida is fighting to keep his seat against Florida Governor Rick Scott, a Republican.

“Speaking of @NelsonForSenate fundraising during hurricane, this is interesting: The link his campaign posted to raise money for disaster relief efforts takes you to ActBlue, the Democrat's fundraising engine. Building donor list through hurricane relief contributions?”

ActBlue’s mission statement: “empower small-dollar donors.” It is an independent software non-profit that has been used to raise over two billion dollars for Democrats and their causes since 2004”.

In theory, Nelson could direct the funds to Hurricane Michael relief from his campaign fund link, but why wouldn’t he link directly to the fundraising effort link that has been established?

It appears that Nelson deleted the Tweet linking to ActBlue. That would indicate to some, that Nelson was up to no good.

Looter gets bold in Hurricane-ravaged Panama City. Then good guy with a gun steps in.

In the wake of natural disasters, looters come out of the woodwork to salvage goods from businesses that are not theirs. In the aftermath of Hurricane Michael, this, too, has become a major problem.

But one “looter” made a deadly mistake Friday when he attempted to steal a police car.

What are the details?

According to WUTV-TV, a man, who is being described as a looter, attempted to steal a police car Friday night in Panama City, Florida, which took a direct hit from the catastrophic storm.

“He yelled at me a little bit. He said, ‘oh I’m looting’ and he opened the door to the police officer’s SUV with the lights going, got in it and shut the door,” witness Landon Swett told WUTV.

Then, moments later, Swett said he heard gunshots.

“As I’m crossing the doorway, I look back, saw the officer at the passenger side. I don’t believe the door was open yet. Then I got about three more feet inside, and I heard the shots,” he explained.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the gunshots came from a Florida Fire Marshall. That official was not identified, but law enforcement said the unidentified thief died of his injuries.

Portland Mayor Defends Decision To Let Antifa Run Wild, Claims Portland Is 'Completely Safe'

Mayor Ted Wheeler defended himself on Twitter adding, “motorists should feel completely safe coming into downtown Portland.”

Portland's mayor Ted Wheeler defended a decision to have police stand down during an "anti-Fascist" protest in Portland weeks ago, allowing black-clad Antifa members to run roughshod through the city, directing traffic, chasing motorists, and causing chaos.

Wheeler, who has been criticized in the past for refusing to curb Antifa's antics, pinned blame for the mayhem on Portland's Police Bureau in a statement on Twitter, and claimed that the incident "will be investigated."

Wheeler added that “motorists should feel completely safe coming into downtown Portland.”

I was appalled by what I saw in that clip and I support the decisions of the @PortlandPolice. I trust them. I believe them as the law enforcement professionals who have to weigh complex legal and safety issues, not only for the people on the streets but also for themselves. -TW

As mayor, Wheeler also serves as police commissioner.

Antifa took to the streets last weekend to protest the shooting death of Patrick Kimmons, who was killed in a police involved shooting in early October. Independent journalist Andy Ngo documented the protests, including an incident where Antifa demonstrators forced their way into a busy intersection and proceeded to direct traffic. Protesters even chased down one elderly motorist who refused to stop when indicated, leaving him shaken.

Antifa later "doxxed" the elderly driver, and compared him to a neo-Nazi activist in Charlottesville, who drove into a crowd of protesters last year, killing Heather Heyer and injuring several others. The driver has since filed a police report.

Wheeler, who later called the incident "inappropriate," was missing in action during the protest.

"I think it is extremely inappropriate for people to be blocking traffic, to be harassing people going about their everyday business and violating the law," Wheeler said in a interview with OregonLive. "I do not support that kind of behavior."

Double standard is outrageous I agree. But i still believe arrest won't happen until after midterms. If they happen before the left will claim it's a political hit job and incite violence and get more onboard. I'm still thinking Podesta will be arrested 11/3 announced 11/4 as Q said, I think this is the insurance policy for the midterms.

Difficult for all of us but we've come this far, 3 more weeks ain't so long, after that re-assessment will be necessary.
