So I had a weird morning.

Met a guy who actually works with the Iridium Satelites in a very random way. Kindof a Spooky universe sometimes, what are the odds?

Elon Musk is a huge investor. He bought 10 Satelites for them to test and if they worked perfectly he'd be in to help finance the rest of the project. Was originally a Motorola thing until they went bankrupt.

So, what is it for? Apparently they are a replacement for ground based radar. No plane can ever go missing. It can track to an area 3km wide which is a huge improvement. Mylasia air plane would have never gone missing with this system.

Why is Musk so interested? I asked if it had anything to do with spacex but he got a little Mumm on it suddenly. He joked how the falcon 1 is the exact same as the falcon 9 it just has 9 rockets.

Also he said that Iridium is because you can triangulate anything with the 77 constipation and 77th element is Iridium, but also said they only really needed 66 but keep the 77 because reasons.

Not sure if this helps, maybe all if this is public domain knowledge anyway but I thought I would share in case it helps connect some dots.
