The number of airliners (jets) in the flight levels has risen exponentially post deregulation. Jets up high in very cold air create contrails when conditions are cold enough.
Nothing survives the combustion process in my engine. NOTHING. It's soot, and water vapor. Thats it. The idea that something could be in the fuel and expelled is pure fiction.
The atmosphere determines whether something exists to begin with, and how fast it goes away. Winds aloft. Temperature . Humidity.
