A degree in one of the engineering disciplines is the only degree I'm interested in. I met some Viet Namese in a trade school. They did research and found that machinist was the highest paying job for the education dollar to be found so that's what they went for. As an aerospace machinist I made more than junior engineers. The senior engineers made more but it took years to become a senior engineer. Look for the jobs most in demand and train for those jobs. Multiple job skills help a lot too. I've been a commercial diver, SCUBA instructor, machinist, janitor, teaching assistant and others. I can get a job anywhere in the world. Never stop learning. Trade schools are more cost effective than college for the most part. Our universities are more about indoctrination than education. If you have the money for college without borrowing, then a degree in medical, engineering, can be a good start. A career in the military is a good way to get educated, experienced, and the people skills to be successful. People/communication skills are as important as anything else.
