We may never know the truth, but here's what I think:
Patriots cut Assange's internet to prevent him from unleashing the reddest of pills, thereby plunging the world into complete chaos and jeopardizing The Plan. Assange was granted immunity and safeguarding, where he has been all this time, working with POTUS to help bring them all down.
And he just got his internet back.
