You basically suggested that an apocalyptic / "end times" scenario would be the biggest thing imaginable. That's your frame. And there's nothing to suggest that this frame would be top of mind for Q, or that he would tailor his observations to this in particular.
And the fact of the matter is, the involvement of extraterrestrial forces in human affairs (possibly extending back hundreds or thousands of years) would be a much harder pill for a lot of people to swallow than the suggestion that we're in an end times scenario that lines up nicely with the religious narratives they already know.
