Katie Brennan was (allegedly) raped in 2017 by a campaign staffer who went on to become an aide to governor Murphy. She got a rape kit done and followed all legal steps before making her accusation public. Her alleged assailant, Alvarez, resigned on Oct 9, 2018 after a newspaper contacted him for comment via email.
