On Aug 4, 2009, Bill Clinton was there to bring home journalists Ling and Lee. Ling and Lee were taken at the border when they were investigating human trafficking.
Clinton was greeted by the North Korean Chief Nuclear Negotiator and received as if on a state visit.
BIll Richardson and Al Gore were also considered for the mission but Bill Clinton was chosen.
