CNN’s Brooke Baldwin: ‘I Don’t Want to Be The Word Police’ But I Had To Call Out ‘Mob Word’

On Tuesday night, CNN anchor Brooke Baldwin appeared on “The Late Show” and was asked about an incident last week involving the “m-word.”

 

During a panel discussion, Baldwin took issue with Daily Beast columnist Matt Lewis referring to the angry anti-Kavanaugh protesters who confronted Republican Texas Sen. Ted Cruz at a restaurant as a “mob” and essentially banned the word from her program.

 

But when Stephen Colbert mentioned how she “got in a little trouble” with blowback on Twitter, Baldwin explained herself.

 

“At the time, the ‘mob’ word had been this talking point for Republicans from all up and down Capitol Hill in the wake of what had happened with Dr. Ford and Justice Kavanaugh,” Baldwin said. “And so when he brought the ‘mob’ word up again, I called him out.”

 

 

“Listen, I don’t want to be the word police and that was not my intention, but I also believe in calling out talking points,” she continued. “And to hear him bring that up, I had to say something.”

 

Baldwin added that if she had “irked the left and the right, then I’ve done my job.”

French justice continues witch hunt on Marine Le Pen

Marine Le Pen is again being investigated because she published the picture of her psychiatric expertise’s injunction on Twitter.

 

On 20 September, Le Pen published on Twitter an injunction from the justice minister that requires her to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.

 

According to French justice she needs that evaluation after she published pictures of ISIS victims on her twitter feed to expose the gruesome acts the group commits.

 

Among other things, she posted a photo of a man being burned alive and of the body of American journalist James Foley with the text “Daesh is THIS”.

 

“I am being charged for having condemned the horrors of Daesh. In other countries, this would have earned me a medal,” Le Pen then said. She could face three years in jail as well as a €75,000 fine.

 

But now Le Pen has been charged as well, for publishing the request for an inquiry into her psychological health.

 

Le Pen described the request by saying that France is turning into a totalitarian state and that judges are politicised.

 

“They want to prosecute me under an article which was used against sexual workers, psychopaths, perverts and sexual predators!”

 

“Every action against the opposition is taken, to try to harm it, to slow it, humiliate it (…) they are marks of an undemocratic system. They are marks of a totalitarian state!” She said.
