Even so-called "in demand" degrees aren't in demand. It's outright fraud. Have friends with nursing degrees, can't find a nursing job. Another with an accounting degree, summa cum laude, passed CPA exam, public accounting firms have said "nope we don't want you," so she's working in e-commerce. At my "alma mater," out of a class of 30 accounting grads (which has the best accounting program in the state university system), I'd say only 4 or 5 actually get good jobs. The rest doing temp work, retail, whatever. Could give hundreds of examples.
Read some horrors about dealing with that PSLF shit. They act like IBR is the best thing since sliced bread. So be underemployed for…life, don't make too many payments so the interest capitalizes and the balance ends up being double or triple when that 25 years is up. Tax bill incoming. Have to file hardship exemption because who, working on $30k/year, will be able to foot a six figure tax bill. Either way, the government is gonna lose A LOT of money from defaults, income-based shit, PSLF, other forgiveness programs. Might as well just wipe the debt clean, repeal the student loan provisions within the HEA (I'd love to see the DOE abolished) and make the cocksucking schools EARN their money. Free-market higher education.
That's exactly what happened. Even in fields that don't fall under the "underwater basket weaving" category, there's like five legit jobs for every 15 graduates. They're graduating far too many people, even in finance, accounting, teaching (there's a teacher shortage, yet newly-minted teachers have problems finding jobs), nursing, engineering, etc. Had a finance professor tell me 50% of college grads shouldn't be allowed to graduate.
We have a lot of shit for which to "thank" Obama. Sum it up, "Kneecapping America." The commie kids don't see the true problem. They don't see past their own problems. Can't see the big picture. So they howl for free shit because they've been screwed and are too stupid to realize it. Or are too arrogant to admit they've been hoodwinked.
