perspective is everything, anon. Those people you see may be openly acting accordingly to seem a part of society while privately having quite similar thoughts as you. I know this to be true, as I myself had the same thoughts, but at a much earlier age than most would believe. And certain aspects of my life have forced me to allow myself to be placed into any other individuals shoes at will so as to be able to communicate with them directly. I am deaf, have been since the age of 7. That may make the statement and it's claims a bit more enlightening in a manner of speaking.
Being able to allow others to be themselves is a very rare thing to come across nowadays, and as such, I would revel in being able to do so were I in your shoes. I myself am of the same breed in those regards. It requires patience, understanding…..it requires being a good listener, which as a deaf anon I will speak for many others when I say we are of the best listeners, as we take in multiple forms of communication and not solely audible verbatim. To hold just these three qualities is a burden few understand in full capacity, and we take up the weight on our shoulders daily leading by example. I personally consider it a blessing in disguise.
Hang in there….people still have these attributes and many many others which have actively been sought to be erradicated for centuries, and they are within our grasp for a reason.
