I just came across this item on the BBC's site:

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-45894346

which talked about Trump pulling the USA out of the Postal Treaty due to China's unfair business practices (shipping items for free or nearly free).

Its about time that Trump did this and was wondering if he would. I think I may have complained about China's shipping rates compared to the US shipping rates on these boards at some point - can't really remember though.

I am very happy that Trump is doing this. Why? I get a lot of stuff shipped up from the US to Canada.

In 2014, a set of 26" mountain bike forks cost me $23 to ship here.

In 2018 a laptop that weighed less than half the amount of the above forks cost me $53 to ship. Really upsetting.

So, Q, please pass on my thanks to POTUS about his decision to pull out of the Treaty. Its about time that China was forced to pay market rates for shipping.

I must admit that I have purchased a lot of stuff from China too because of the cheap shipping, but I support Trump's position as, currently, the cheap Chinese shipping costs hurt American sellers a lot.
