Secondary intent re: Khashoggi by the MSM is to trap Trump into saying something unsympathetic about the guy since he has been labeled a "journalist" from the beginning. Fuels the Trump promotes violence against journalists mantra. POTUS is not trapped that easily.
If this can be legally pinned on Soros the maybe the EO freezing money of criminals who are threats to national security can be deployed.
