Former FBI Agent Sentenced to Four Years in Prison For Leaking Documents to Media

In March, federal criminal charges filed in Minnesota revealed the Justice Department charged Terry James Albury, a former FBI agent who aimed to blow the whistle on the bureau’s “systemic biases,” for leaking a secret document to the media.

On Thursday, Mr. Albury was sentenced to four years in prison with an additional three years of supervised release, reported kstp.

He was charged with one count of unauthorzed disclosure of national defense information, and one count of retention of national defense information. Albury pleaded guilty in federal court in April of 2018. At the time of his guilty plea, Albury’s attorneys released a statement saying Albury was acting out of conscience, and that he felt troubled, alleging racism within the FBI.

In a combative exchange at a hearing Friday in Washington, D.C., a federal judge unabashedly accused career State Department officials of lying and signing "clearly false" affidavits to derail a series of lawsuits seeking information about former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's private email server and her handling of the 2012 terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth also said he was "shocked" and "dumbfounded" when he learned that FBI had granted immunity to former Clinton chief of staff Cheryl Mills during its investigation into the use of Clinton's server, according to a court transcript of his remarks.

"I had myself found that Cheryl Mills had committed perjury and lied under oath in a published opinion I had issued in a Judicial Watch case where I found her unworthy of belief, and I was quite shocked to find out she had been given immunity in — by the Justice Department in the Hillary Clinton email case," Lamberth said during the hearing.

The Department of Justice's Inspector General (IG), Michael Horowitz, noted in a bombshell report in June that it was "inconsistent with typical investigative strategy" for the FBI to allow Mills to sit in during the agency's interview of Clinton during the email probe, given that classified information traveled through Mills' personal email account. "[T]here are serious potential ramifications when one witness attends another witness' interview," the IG wrote.

Yet Muslims everywhere in Pakistan demand that she still be put to death.

How exactly did she “blaspheme” against Muhammad? While working in the field one hot summer day, she dared take a drink from the common well.

Her Muslim counterparts were outraged that she – a “filthy animal” and a “filthy Christian,” as they called her – had befouled their water source. As their verbal upbraiding escalated, the Christian woman dared to defend herself, prompting the outraged Muslim women to call on her to “convert to Islam to redeem yourself for your filthy religion.”

The beleaguered Christian shot back:

I’m not going to convert. I believe in my religion and in Jesus Christ, who died on the cross for the sins of mankind. What did your Prophet Mohammed ever do to save mankind?

“That’s when the hatred bursts out from all sides,” explains Asia in her memoirs. “All around me the women start screaming.” They beat and spat on her while screaming, “How dare you say such a thing about our Prophet?!”

Days later, she was imprisoned for blasphemy and sentenced to death, in keeping with Section 295-C of Pakistan’s penal code:

"Profanity-Laced" Shouting Match Erupts Between Kelly, Bolton Outside Oval Office

The White House is back to its old, chaotic ways.

Citing "three people familiar", Bloomberg reports that on Thursday, around the time when the Trump administration was contemplating next steps in the Saudi Arabia fiasco, Trump’s chief of staff, John Kelly, and his national security adviser, John Bolton, engaged in a "profanity-laced" shouting match outside the Oval Office.

The shouting match was so intense that other White House aides worried one of the two men might immediately resign. Neither is resigning, the people said.

While one possible reason for the argument is which of the two admin officials was more excited to start war in [Insert Country X], Bloomberg said that it wasn't immediately clear what Trump's chief of staff and national security adviser were arguing about. However, the clash was the latest indication that tensions are again resurfacing in the White House 19 days before midterm elections.

Junket justice: How special interests pay to schmooze DOJ and FBI officials

Of all the agencies in the federal government that should be immune to special-interest schmoozing, the Department of Justice (DOJ) and its premier law enforcement agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives top the list.

Their independence from influence, and their integrity in meting out the law fairly, are essential to their success and the trust the American public places in them.

But this week, the DOJ’s internal watchdog put a rare spotlight on gratuities inside the department when it revealed that a former FBI official accepted free sporting event tickets from a television reporter.

Neither the giver nor the recipient was named in the report, and officials sought to gloss over the finding as an aberration.

But, in fact, there is a systemic system of gratuities invading the ranks of the DOJ, one that is sanctioned at the highest levels of the department and that involves some its most sensitive personnel.

Hundreds of pages of rarely reviewed Office of Government Ethics (OGE) filings reveal that over the past three years, DOJ under both Democratic and Republican presidents has allowed hundreds of its employees to accept free travel, lodging and food from special interests across the globe.

The junkets have taken senior DOJ officials and front-line agents to some of the world’s most desirable locations — Sao Paulo, Brazil, in February, Panama City in March, Morocco in May, and Paris in October, to name a few — as well as exotic locations such as the scenic Indian Ocean island of Mauritius and the glamorously modern Arabian Peninsula city of Dubai.

The hosts footing the bill often have a strong policy or investigative interest in the agencies whose employees they schmooze, or were controlled by foreign governments.

Take, for example, the government of Qatar, which spent more than $10,000 to bring two FBI employees and two assistant U.S. attorneys to speak at conferences or training events in Doha in spring and fall of 2017.

The FBI and Justice Department are investigating Doha and Qatari authorities for possible racketeering in their successful efforts to host an international sporting event in 2019 in that city. News reports indicate the investigations began in 2017.

The juxtaposition of G-men carousing in Qatar at the foreign government’s expense during an ongoing investigation of that country may make some observers feel queasy.

Nancy Pelosi: There Will Be ‘Collateral Damage’ to Those Who Disagree with Us

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told a gathering at the 92nd Street Y in New York on Sunday that there may have to be “collateral damage” to those Americans who do not agree with the Democratic Party agenda.

Pelosi was being interviewed onstage by Paul Krugman, the left-wing New York Times columnist and Nobel economic laureate who predicted, the day Donald Trump won the presidency, that Trump would trigger “a global recession, with no end in sight.”

In a long, rambling monologue, during which she stumbled on her words and appeared to lose her train of thought, Pelosi said:

We have to have total clarity about what we do, when it comes to everything — a woman’s right to choose, gay marriage … whether it’s about immigration, whether it’s about gun safety, whether it’s about climate … I think that we owe the American people to be there for them, for their financial security, respecting the dignity and worth of every person in our country, and if there’s some collateral damage for some others who do not share our view, well, so be it, but it shouldn’t be our original purpose.

It is not clear what Pelosi meant by “collateral damage,” though Democrats have advocated ostracizing and even prosecuting those who do not share their views on climate change.

Democrats like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), have also targeted Trump administration officials for harassment, and Republicans around the country have complained of intimidation and assault on the campaign trail in the run-up to the midterm elections.

On Monday, Pelosi told an audience at Harvard that Democrats would win the election, and the only question was whether it would be a “wave” or a “tsunami.”

Pelosi would likely return as speaker of the House if her party wins a majority.
