Consider – it can matter to plan. Matters to RR and RM and that is how it works its magic/ influence on these two and their associates. Their associates are also pressurized. By each other. Mistakes will happen. Self-correction is not imposed from without. So friend or foe does matter to shape the plays available. Rate of diminishing returns for RR. For RM. For RR/RM. At some point co-operation, forced or willing, loses its cache.

At root, both are tainted by their own self-direction prior to Prez Trump. All they touch ain't gold even when their mits are catching fly balls for the Good Guys. Can still throw the game even with ground balls, right?

Not in their self-interest, but emotions under pressure lead to mistakes even maliciously passive-aggressive.

Don't think either has turned, for real, but for appearances. Don't think each is playing a role undesired by each. But they are in a 3-legged race, uphill, over muddy no-man's land, and won't be enjoying the thankless task.
