It's easy to be cardboard cutout 'perfect dad' when yyou live a fairy tale life (on tv ofc)
It's MUCH harder to do when you live in the real world, with real world problems and real world issues.
He provided for his family, put them first in all things where it counted (most dads go without a LOT that goes unseen and uncommented or complained about… much) and his kids and wife got what they needed - and most things they wanted.
He did just ok in my book.
