Respawn makes it sound benign, or something desirable. To gamers, respawning is a great thing.

Recycling better conveys that you are the product that gets reused (emphasis on 'cycle'), which shows it to be a trap. You change form, appearance, shape, but you're still the original product recycled.

They must be completely off the ball today, because I'd be lucky if I could even start a discussion on the alien parasites. I'm guessing they're overstretched trying to stem other people from figuring it out?

It's hard to tell if it's an automatic system or a manually controlled one.

All I know is if you don't 'vent stress' or 'produce stress', they increase and even adapt the nature of the annoyance. Signs you're dealing with the entities:

1) Perfectly 'logical' devices (like computers) malfunction for seemingly no reason at all, randomly, etc and mysteriously start working for seemingly no reason after a period of time (especially if it suddenly 'starts working' when you enable debugging tools or try to diagnose the problem).

2) You go to isolated areas and find annoying people turn up there. By annoying, I mean 'singing a tune', talking in an extremely annoying accent, talking loudly for absolutely no reason at all. Bonus points if they waltz towards you or sit next to you.

(Quiet areas or areas where people should be quiet - libraries, train carriages, movies - are prime for this)

3) Antagonist behaviour from people for seemingly no reason at all or extremely trivial reasons. Even the other person - once they've caused you stress - might acknowledge it was petty or pointless.

4) If noisy people aren't around (sleeping, midnight, etc), noisy animals take their place.

5) Excessively trivial corrections or issues that, even when being more careful, just results in it multiplying. For example, trying to type something out and even if you're an excellent typist, every word or other word gets a typo, keyboard button gets stuck, etc.

Essentially, extremely annoying things that should not, logically, be happening unless someone were artificially causing it to happen.

A few examples:

Singing duet on a train.

'Sniffles man' (a man who made the creep in 'Hey Arnold' seem reserved when breathing through his nose).

Obnoxious phone talking rage spitting punching woman - in a quiet area.

A bird so loud you can hear it through insulated windows.
