Elizabeth Warren's ex-husband founded DNA testing company

Sen. Elizabeth Warren's ex-husband co-founded a DNA testing company and wrote one of the first computer codes for making genetic comparisons.

Jim Warren's career involved him in the kinds of genetic testing that Elizabeth Warren controversially invoked this month to prove that she had Native American ancestry.

One of the two other co-founders of his testing company, FamilyTreeDNA, has worked with Carlos Bustamante, the Stanford University geneticist who administered a DNA test at Elizabeth Warren's request.

Bustamante, a Stanford University geneticist, conducted the test, which Elizabeth Warren used to respond to President Trump's "Pocahontas" taunt and his mockery of her previous claim to be a Native American while a professor at Harvard Law School in the 1990s.

Rather than using a commercial service to conduct her DNA test, Warren hired Bustamante, 43, who appears in the video explaining the test and in a scene in which the Massachusetts senator telephones his office and asks to speak with him.

Elizabeth Warren: 'I am not a citizen of any tribal nation'

Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., made it clear Friday night that she does not belong to any Native American tribe, after she took a DNA test that she said demonstrates that she likely has a distant Native American ancestor.

"I am not a citizen of any tribal nation," she said in a debate with her Republican Senate rival, Geoff Diehl. "Only tribes determine tribal citizenship, it's not done by DNA."

Warren said in the debate that she never claimed that heritage in order to advance her career.

"The Boston Globe has done an extensive analysis and come up with the fact that nothing in my background ever made any difference in my hiring," she said.

Triple Amputee Veteran Brian Kolfage Vows to Haul Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg into Court

Air Force veteran Brian Kolfage is vowing to fight Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg — all the way up to Supreme Court if necessary — if the social media giant does not reinstate his Facebook pages, which Facebook deleted without warning or explanation.

“I’m going to take the fight to Facebook. No one has ever done it. You can tell the rage I have over this whole thing,” Kolfage said in an interview with Breitbart News Daily Sirius XM host and Breitbart News Editor-in-Chief Alex Marlow on Friday.

“We are not going to stop until Facebook is held accountable on this for everybody. This is not about me. This is about free speech and this is about what they are doing to Americans,” he said.

Kolfage, who lost three limbs fighting in the Iraq War in 2004, was the administrator of the widely-read conservative Right Wing News page on Facebook, which had more than three million followers. He also founded a coffee company, Military Grade Coffee, which had more than 200,000 customers and is how he makes a living for his family.

But earlier this month, Facebook deleted both pages, without warning and without explanation. When Facebook rolled out new rules nine months ago, Kolfage contacted Facebook to make sure his pages were in compliance.

“I’m being punished for my beliefs — I truly believe it,” Kolfage. “It’s truly about who we are and our beliefs…right before the elections — it couldn’t be more blatant what’s going on.”

“We need to come together and Zuckerberg needs to get hauled into court,” he said. “We’re going to take him all the way to Supreme Court if we have to. We’re going to fight for the American people and we’re going to fight for everyone who’s been screwed over by them.”

Elizabeth Heng’s New Ad Portrays Jim Costa Walking in Nancy Pelosi’s Heels

A new ad by Republican Elizabeth Heng, who is challenging incumbent Democrat Jim Costa in California’s 16th congressional district, shows a Costa lookalike walking down the sidewalk in Nancy Pelosi’s high-heeled shoes.

The ad, which seems to throw caution about “cisgenderism” aside, suggests that Costa is merely a stand-in for the unpopular House minority leader. Pelosi is determined to become Speaker of the House again if Democrats win.

The ad closes with Heng’s tagline: “Costa la vista, baby!”

Elko's economy is based heavily on gold mining, with ranching and tourism providing additional jobs. The city is considered the capital of Nevada's goldbelt. The state of Nevada produces more gold than all but four countries, and most of the gold from Nevada is mined near Elko. This has caused the town to have a boom and bust economy consistent with the rises and declines in the price of gold. The town is surrounded by hundreds of abandoned mining camps, and viewing them is a popular local activity. A gold boom in the 1980s that ended in a bust in the late 1990s left the town with large numbers of abandoned homes and left the local governments struggling to survive on reduced tax revenues. Elko has struggled to bring in other industries, mostly because of its isolation and the surrounding harsh desert environment. Hunter S. Thompson quipped that in Elko, "The federal government owns 90% of this land, and most of it is useless for anything except weapons testing and poison-gas experiments."[16]

Elko is also home to legal prostitutes and contains active brothels. Under Nevada law, any county with a population of less than 400,000 is allowed to license brothels if it so chooses.[21]
