There is a huge, ongoing attack right now. Its been going for three hours non-stop now. We are only online now because we are taking evasive maneuvers in the data center.

Imagine the attacker has a giant laser and is aiming at our servers. His laser can only hit one server at a time, and it takes a few minutes for him to re-calibrate his laser to change targets. What we are doing is waiting to see which server he is attacking, then maneuvering that server away from his laser and waiting for him to re-calibrate and find his next target. It isn't so hard to move out of the way of just one laser, but our attacker has multiple lasers and is hitting many of our servers in tandem. Luckily we are equipped to dodge lasers, but even the best pugilist still gets punched in the face.

Expect the site to be periodically up and down today as we dodge out of the way of those lasers and try to keep everything online.
