Jesus to the Sanhedrin:
Matthew 21:42-44
42 Jesus said to them, “Have you never read in the Scriptures:
‘The stone which the builders rejected
Has become the chief cornerstone.
This was the Lord’s doing,
And it is marvelous in our eyes’?
43 “Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it. 44 And whoever falls on this stone will be broken; but on whomever it falls, it will grind him to powder.”
The Book of Revelation, read from a preterist perspective, is the account of God judging Israel for its unfaithfulness and establishing the church.
Israel WAS the agency of the kingdom in the earth (kingdom of priests, Exodus 19:6) but they forfeited that place and it has since been given to the Church (1 Peter 2:9).
The destruction of the temple in 70 AD is the mark of the transition from God dwelling in a temple to a temple not made with hands (the Church).
