Was in SF when the first redesigned orig. Star Wars was released (nineties). Fren said we needed to get in line night b4. I thought he was nuts, but joined in anyway. He ended up being right, the line wound around the block. Local diner/restaurant came and brought us coffee, it even made the local news, kek. Best part was when the theatre opened, a bunch of light saber wielding anons created an arch that the line filed thru, happily sacrificing their own spots in line for effect. Hat tip to the humor and spirit of /ourguys/. May it never be extinguished.

But just as we crave food w/poison if it's the only food available, we can't help be drawn to stories of heroism and other tropes of our culture–and if the only versions of them are dressed up w/illuminati lies, well, better some nutrition than total starvation, right?
