There is a lot of research in post quantum encryption methods (?) from what I've heard - which indicates the current (AES) status quo is no more.
I'd suggest they've gone so far as to run simulations to use data as a control tool (similar to what Facebook did by changing peoples' moods by controlling their Facebook feed), for example if you can create a set of data events that might cause a trader to be especially reckless during trading that day, which you could capitalize on. Sort of like nudging a human robot with data inputs you control.
