Borderfag here. I live about 10-13 miles from the border. I am unsure of what "closing the border" would look like.

Thousands of people must cross both directions on a daily basis. There are factories (US owned) and private businesses that depend upon the ability to cross the border daily. Most engineers the work in the factories ( maquiladores) are United States citizens that run them.

I go across to shop and buy medicines once every three weeks or so.

South Texas also has a HUGE population of northerners that winter here. They also utilize the Mexican border towns to buy scripts and go to the dentist. The border economy is greatly supported by this commerce.

I would venture to say that if the borders were closed, this area would sink to shithole status very quickly.

Even if Americans were allowed to cross into Mexico just for daily shopping, they would fall prey to angry and desperate people. The situation could become very dangerous very quickly. Unfortunately, my area would most likely be in the national news.

THIS INVASION MUST BE STOPPED BEFORE THEY EVEN GET CLOSE TO THE BORDER!!!!!
