FINNEGAN: Breaking: Eagan Avenatti to be evicted from its Newport Beach offices for nonpayment of 4 months rent. Landlord wins judgment at trial in Orange County.

Law & Crime reported:

Frank claimed that when he worked with Avenatti’s former firm Eagan Avenatti, he had an independent contractor arrangement that said he would receive 25% of the firm’s annual profits and 20% of his client’s fees. Frank said he was also supposed to get copies of the firm’s tax returns and other financial records. His lawsuit, filed in May of this year, alleged that the firm didn’t provide the records, misstated what their profits were, and didn’t pay him the amount due to him. In February 2016 he filed a demand to go to arbitration, and resigned from the firm months later.

The two sides eventually reached a settlement agreement, whereby the firm would pay Frank $4.85 million, but Frank sued when he did not receive any payment by the deadline set in the agreement.

At the time the lawsuit was filed, Avenatti told Law&Crime that it was “Frivolous and baseless.”

Apparently the court did not agree.

Avenatti remained defiant on Monday and told Law & Crime, “Any amount awarded Jason Frank will be deducted from the $12 Million he owes me and my firm for his outright fraud in stealing clients, etc.”

Bolton: US, Russia Will Benefit From Sanctions on Iran

National Security Advisor John Bolton has been holding a series of talks in Moscow with senior Russian officials including Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev.

Speaking in Moscow, Bolton said that Washington's sanctions against Tehran have had an impact on the global oil market, and that both Russia and the US would benefit from the US decision.

Saying that the US has increased its own production and exports, Bolton said that Russia too would stand to benefit from the decline of Iranian output. "It's true that Russia as an oil exporter will benefit from rising oil prices. And we [also] benefit as oil producers. But in time, the market will level off," Bolton said, speaking to Russian radio station Echo Moskvy.

According to the US official, US sanctions against Iran are aimed at putting "maximum pressure on Tehran to change their behavior."

Commenting on other issues, including the possibility of another summit between Presidents Putin and Trump, Bolten said a one-on-one summit like the one that took place in Helsinki earlier this year was possible.

Regarding claims of Russian meddling in the US elections, Bolton said he told his Russian counterpats that such meddling was unlikely to have had any real effect.

Johnson's Stance on Khashoggi Case Shows UK Double Standards - Russian Embassy

Former UK Foreign Secretary's calls for dialogue with the Saudi authorities after the murder of Khashoggi showcase double standards of London's foreign policy, the press officer of the Russian Embassy to the United Kingdom said.

"To hear calls for a dialogue and presentation of evidence from Boris Johnson is interesting. It is worth remembering that it was him who, while being Foreign Secretary, advocated a hard line towards Russia after the Salisbury incident, which included a refusal to present any evidence or to cooperate at any official level, and increased sanctions on the basis of political declarations only. The statements of the former Foreign Secretary highlight the double standards of the UK foreign policy in the best way possible," the press officer of the Russian Embassy to the United Kingdom said on Monday, as quoted in the embassy's press release.

The press officer slammed the United Kingdom for failing to provide sufficient information on the Skripal case, who stressed further that "more than 7 months have passed since the Salisbury incident, but it is still unclear what really happened there, where and in what conditions the affected Russian citizens currently are, and what evidence forms the basis of public accusations against Russia and certain Russian nationals. The investigation has been classified by the British authorities. The domestic and international public have to consume leaks and speculations which are impossible to verify. To date, the Tory government has not answered a single serious question raised by Russia."

Khashoggi murder ‘a monstrosity’, no arms exports to Saudi Arabia until incident cleared up –Merkel

The killing of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the Suadi consulate is a "monstrosity," German Chancellor Angela Merkel has stated, adding that Berlin will not sell arms to Riyadh while the issue remains unclear.

Her comment reiterates a statement made on Sunday, in which she said there is an "urgent need for clarification of exacty what happened" to Khashoggi and condemned his killing "in the strongest terms."

Her comment about Germany refusing to sell arms to Riyadh while the issue remains unclear is significant, as the country approved weapons exports to Saudi Arabia worth €416.4 million this year, reportedly making Riyadh Germany's second-best arms customer after Algeria.

Earlier on Monday, Germany urged other EU states to follow its example of ending arms exports to Saudi Arabia so long as uncertainty remains over what exactly happened to Khashoggi.

On Saturday, Germany - along with France and the European Union - demanded an in-depth investigation into what happened to the journalist."The information available about events in the Istanbul consulate is inadequate," Merkel said in a joint statement with Foreign Minister Heiko Maas.

That remark came after Riyadh finally admitted on Saturday, after weeks of denials, that Khashoggi died during a "fistfight" inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. However, Saudi Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir told Fox News on Sunday that Riyadh doesn't know how the journalist was killed or where his body is.

Saudi energy minister Al-Falih speaks to TASS on OPEC+, oil prices and Khashoggi

— Over the last year and a half, Saudi Arabia has been widely mentioned in the Russian media because of the OPEC+ deal, signed by OPEC and Russia that helped to stabilize the market quite significantly. Are you happy with how this agreement has been working out so far and what was the main outcome for the global oil market from this deal?

Allow me to go back a few years back. At the beginning of this decade oil prices were $100 per barrel and many people thought that this was the new normal. Demand was growing, slower than now, but still growing, supply and demand in balance. But in reality the balance was due to outages in some countries due to geopolitical issues. High oil prices were hurting demand and we saw that demand slowing down considerably by 2014. It takes time for demand to respond, but it ultimately responds. We saw it in 1980s, in 2000s, we are seeing it now. In a period of 3-4 years after the price hike we see the demand response. And also, which is more significant, we saw the supply respond in a form of expensive oil from offshore and most notably from US shale coming on strongly. And ultimately the oil caused an oversupplied and unbalanced market. In 2013-2014 it was obvious to us that market was not sustainable under those conditions. And as a result we saw the price crash from $100 to $25-30 per barrel. Consequently we started our discussions with our Russian colleagues, most notably there were discussions at the leaderships level in 2016 during the G20 meeting in China, where president Putin met with His Highness The Crown Prince.. And they agreed that Russia and Saudi Arabia needed to help the world to get out of the slump. Because the slump was hurting the world, not only the producers, but even the consumers, who were affected by the slowdown of industrial growth, inflation, negative interest rates. After that first meeting we met later. And not the two of us agreed, but 24 countries in Vienna in December 2016 agreed to create the OPEC+ alliance to manage production . We did not shock the market by constraining supply. We did it very gently. And the result was that by early this year the market was returning to balance. Excess inventories, which were very high and depressed the market, disappeared. We are now close to 5 year normal average of oil stocks. Supply and demand are close to each other, and the market is balanced. Of course, it helped producing countries like Russia and Saudi Arabia. But, also it helped consumers a lot. Returning the oil markets to balance was the lubricant for the global economy to return to the growth to the very healthy rate we are seeing now. All the parameters of the global economy are healthy. So, in a nutshell, we appreciate Russia’s role. What we want to do? This cycle is ending, and oil market will ultimately go through another cycle. We want to keep supply and demand balanced in the long term. In last three to four month we have coordinated with minister Novak to increase supply, because by May this year there was a lot of stress in the market about the shortage of oil, especially with sanctions and with reductions in some countries like Venesuela and Mexico . There were concerns, that there would be a shortage of oil. And if we continued the same policy that we had had in the previous 1.5 years, we would see the oil above 100 again. So we intervened. We had discussions with minister Novak during the Saint Petersburg Economic Forum in May and we met in Moscow during the opening of the World Cup. Finally we agreed that it was time to change the course. The policy of withdrawing supply has accomplished its mission, and now it is time to gradually release supply. We have managed to convince the OPEC+ group. And from June till now we see the market has relaxed. So we have proved to ourselves that we can work with Russia and keep the markets balanced whether there is the shortage or oversupply. So I want to emphasize that given the success of two years coordination between KSA and Russia, we need to establish the framework for the long-term coordination. . Oil market is always cyclical, and without cooperation that cyclicity causes the severe volatility. And it is important to help moderate the volatility so that all participants and especially investors know that big producers like Russia and Saudi Arabia are working together to balance the markets.

Trump: US to Build Up Its Nuclear Arsenal Until the World Comes to Its Senses

The United States will continue to develop its nuclear weapon stockpile, the US President told reporters Monday, until nations around the world including China and Russia come to their senses.

The threat was directed at China and Russia, the president emphasized.

Washington is on the verge of ripping up the Cold War era-Intermediate Nuclear Forces Treaty (INF) from 1987, according to reports. Speaking to reporters on the south lawn of the White House, Trump complained that Moscow has not done enough to adhere to the INF treaty.
