Look at the comments on their profile and cover photos. Look at the people liking the photos.
Notice how the comments are often very similar. Notice how the pictures on the accounts of the likes/comments all contain the same things..
Children.
These people don't just deal in money. They deal in humans, organs, weapons, drugs, etc.
They need some way to coordinate it on a micro level, and FB provides exactly that platform. The symbolism and communication are there.
