When I was in 3rd grade..there was a class next to ours that was completely autistic. As a young kid I couldn't understand why they were even in school. I honestly was a little scared as they were loud and various other issues. (I was a kid) BUT one day we had an Assembly with the whole school. When we got into the auditorium all the autistic kids were on stage. I will never forget this. One of the kids (who was seemingly uncontrollable) was let loose on a bunch of what I saw as a pile of metal objects. He started constructing and was calm and focused. After about 10 minutes ( the assembly went on to spotlight other kids) I heard this cranking noise and a loud VROOOM. That kid had built a fucking motor right on stage. He looked excited at first and then went back to being "uncontrollable" Again I will never forget it and have always looked at those kids in a very very different light since then.
