That was my experience of Austin, also.

Hair color wasn't too ridiculous and the guns were pink, but at least they still had guns.

So many mexicans but all of the homeless were black and white.

Austin was a stopping point on the way out west.

Took the odd way and went through smaller towns just to see non-main-interstate Texas.

 

I love how everything about Killeen screams "Keep moving, citizen. There is nothing for you here."
