It’s precisely because the US President is NOT a “dictator” that the position is not responsible for the budged of the Federal Budget. That’s Congress, and Congress chose not to fund building the wall as quickly as POTUS and most US citizens wanted.
But many are too damn ignorant to understand.
Don’t underestimate the impact of spin and presentation by the worldwide media to turn this into “muh humanitarian crisis” and “brutal dictator Drumpf.” It might achieve less traction than it would have done six months ago, but there remain many empty heads for whom this is a proverbial dog whistle.
