In high school, Jamal Khashoggi had a good friend. His name was Osama bin Laden.

When Trump signed the order freeing up California's fresh water resources, that was all about Emergy. That water came from the Sun's working in evaporating the oceans, moving the clouds, and pushing them up the Sierra to squeeze out the rain. The rainwater is thus, Embodied Energy because it is the tangible result of the work performed by solar energy.

The capitalist/communist system of economics really only consider profits from human labor. It sees a world of scarcity and wants to control it and mete out a meager portion to the slaves who do productive work.

Trump clearly has a more expansive view of the economy and sees abundance where others see scarcity. He also sees EMERGY meaning the value added by energy flows, whether natural energy or human energy. By releasing human ingenuity, Trump INCREASES the amount of human energy in the economy, so natural it booms and provides an increase in the eMergy outputs.
