Having been part of the Fed, Volker is probably as Deep State as anyone, but he uses some very interesting language, calling Washington a swamp and saying the military is the only leadership still respected. Definitely some kind of signaling going on there.

No doubt, but it looks like he is suggesting the only way out of the lack of confidence mess is something to do with the military, not something you would expect to hear from the establishment. Is he hoping the military will save the Fed and by extension the global banking system? They have been fighting wars to bolster that system for a hundred years, most in the military had no idea that is what the wars were about, but they fought non the less.
