You're supremely correct. Sessions has been with Trump for several years now. He campaigned with him. He's doing exactly the job Trump hired him to do: take down the swamp.
Now that all the crooks (well most) have been forced out of the DoJ/FBI, and once the elections are over, his work will be much more public. As it stands, he's been quietly laying groundwork that sets the stage for all the carnage that is coming.
