Zoom in, it looks like the wires are literally taped down, maybe drilled and inserted to the clock, not actually connected to anything.

TBQH it appears to have two fireworks mortars attached at the ends of those cheap walmart dumbells. The ones where you slide on the weight and tighten it down with a plastic screw.
