J'Accuse: Halperin lays out the critical case against Obama

By Rick Moran

President Obama has lost Time Magazine.

A brutally honest and generally accurate picture of Obama's troubles at this point in his presidency comes to us via Mark Halperin:

With the exception of core Obama Administration loyalists, most politically engaged elites have reached the same conclusions: the White House is in over its head, isolated, insular, arrogant and clueless about how to get along with or persuade members of Congress, the media, the business community or working-class voters. This view is held by Fox News pundits, executives and anchors at the major old-media outlets, reporters who cover the White House, Democratic and Republican congressional leaders and governors, many Democratic business people and lawyers who raised big money for Obama in 2008, and even some members of the Administration just beyond the inner circle. (See Obama's troubled first year, issue by issue.)

On Friday, after the release of the latest bleak unemployment data - the last major jobs figures before the midterms - Obama said, "Putting the American people back to work, expanding opportunity, rebuilding the economic security of the middle class is the moral and national challenge of our time." But elites feel the President has failed to meet that challenge and are convinced he will be unable to do so in the remainder of his term. Moreover, there is a growing perception that Obama's decisions are causing harm - that businesses are being hurt by the Administration's legislation and that economic recovery is stalling because of the uncertainty surrounding energy policy, health care, deficits, housing, immigration and spending.

It gets worse. Halperin refers to Jobs Fairs across the country as "the breadlines for the Obama years." And after criticizing the GOP for not offering alternatives, Halperin skewers Obama for wasting time trying to demonize the opposition.

I may be wrong but this might be the first time that outright charges of incompetence by Obama have figured so prominently in an article in the old media. If so, the narrative about Obama's brilliance may be changing - a possibility that could not only doom Obama's re-election chances but might precipitate a primary challenge next year.

Will Obama get away with his towering hypocrisy regarding foreign political donations?

By Rick Moran

Despite evidence that the Chamber of Commerce political donations that come from abroad are from dues paying members, the Obama-Axelrod dishonest assault on this issue has continued.

The White House intensified its attacks Sunday on the powerful U.S. Chamber of Commerce for its alleged ties to foreign donors, part of an escalating Democratic effort to link Republican allies with corporate and overseas interests ahead of the November midterm elections.

The chamber adamantly denies that foreign funds are used in its U.S. election efforts, accusing Democrats of orchestrating a speculative smear campaign during a desperate political year.

President Obama, speaking at a rally in Philadelphia, said "the American people deserve to know who is trying to sway their elections" and raised the possibility that foreigners could be funding his opponents.

"You don't know," Obama said at the rally for Senate candidate Joe Sestak and other Democrats. "It could be the oil industry. It could even be foreign-owned corporations. You don't know because they don't have to disclose."

Karl Rove is incensed:

Have these people no shame?' Rove said of the attacks leveled at him and the Chamber. ‘Does the president of the United States have such little regard for the office he holds that he goes out there and makes these kind of baseless charges against his political enemies? This is just beyond the pale. How dare the president do this?

"‘This is a desperate and I think disturbing trend by the President of the United States to tar his political adversaries with some kind of enemies list, without being unrestrained by any facts or evidence whatsoever.

We've already covered the massive amount of foreign cash that flowed into the Obama campaign in 2008 illegally. The question is; will any of these charges resonate with the public?

Almost certainly not, although the reason is depressing enough. Sadly, much of the public will chalk these charges up to business as usual and it probably won't sway enough voters to save the Democrat's skin in November. It may dampen turnout among independents, which polls show would help the GOP. But there are no miracles that Obama-Axelrod can pull out of their hat that will change the general outcome of the mid terms next month

Brave scientist calls out the global warming fraudsters By Thomas Lifson

Big money and big politics have corrupted Big Science, and global warming is the proof.

The American Physical Society is the pre-eminent academic organization of American physicists, and supportive of the global warming fraud, which has generated billions of dollars in research funding for Big Science. In an extraordinary act, a prominent scientist has resigned from the APS, in protest of its forsaking of genuine science. Generally, scientists do not voluntarily separate themselves from such honors as membership in the APS.

Harold Lewis, Emeritus Professor of Physics at the University of California, Santa Barbara, sent the following letter to Curtis G. Callan Jr, Princeton University, President of the American Physical Society, an act Anthony Watts likens to Martin Luther nailing his theses to the door of Wittenburg Cathedral. The letter speaks for itself, laying out the problem of corruption of big science:
