>SAYOC, Dr. Melchor Zook - October 19, 1930 - October 10, 2003 D.M.D., University of the Philippines. Private practice in the Panama Canal Zone and the Bay Area for 34 years. Dr. Sayoc was appointed liaison between U.S. and Panamanian dentists by the Governor of the Canal Zone. He was appointed Honorable Counsel, Republic of the Philippines to the Republic of Panama. As V.P. of San Francisco Medical/Dental Center. Dr. Sayoc helped to found "Carecen", a dental center in the Mission District and was honored with Lifetime Membership to the American Dental Association. Mel also served on the Board of Directors for the Rotary Club International where he enjoyed membership for over 42 years and also a charter member of the Presidio Golf Club. A passionate and generous man, he is survived by his wife, Lois and three children, Gaspar, Melinda and Lisa, four grandchildren and two sons-in-law. Happy Birthday Pop!
