Marines Want Crowd-Control Laser That Can Yell at People 1,000 Yards Away
The Marine Corps wants small business owners' help in developing a new non-lethal laser system capable of transmitting orders to someone more than a half-mile away, burning through their clothing, or sending disorienting flash bangs that can temporarily blind them.
The Scalable Compact Ultra-Short Pulse Laser Systems would ideally fit on a Joint Light Tactical Vehicle, Humvee or even an unmanned system. That's according to a solicitation on the Small Business Innovation Research website, which encourages companies to compete for federal research and development programs.
The Marine Corps' deadline for applications on this laser system closed Wednesday. It's not immediately clear whether any small businesses sent in their ideas.
The ideal weapon system the Marine Corps wants should: produce flash-blind effects from a minimum distance of 100 meters; burn through common clothing, such as fabric, denim or leather; and deliver voice commands to those as far as 10 football fields away.

In this week’s FOIA round-up, emails show correspondence between Amazon and Immigration and Customs Enforcement representatives regarding the tech giant’s facial recognition software, public and confidential data from Chicago revealed a decade of sexual abuse of students throughout public schools, and a significant amount of National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s historical artifacts have gone missing or been taken in the agency’s lifetime, highlighting flawed storage and tracking procedures.
Amazon and ICE discuss facial recognition
The Daily Beast reported from emails made public that Amazon met with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement over the summer to recommend its facial recognition system. The software, called “Rekognition,” can identify people from real-time video in a second.
The emails between ICE and Amazon representatives were originally released by the Project on Government Oversight. The emails include a follow-up to the meeting in which an Amazon Web Services federal sales principal followed up on the meeting’s action items. Those action items included: a workshop to address “a big HSI problem” and an AWS artificial intelligence/machine learning technology briefing focused on several of the company’s technologies, including Rekognition.

The so-called "bombs" sent to the likes of the Clintons, Obama, Soros and Joe Biden are made to appear like real bombs but lack the detonator and other key components that one would normally find with a real Improvised Explosive Device. Friends in ATF and the FBI tell me that these "devices" are to explosives what the little kid dressed as Pocohontas is to real American Indians. Costumed theater.
The audience for this theater is the voting public. The Democrats want you to believe that Donald Trump has stirred up a culture of hate and that some acolyte of Trump has now embarked on his own personal jihad. 521,090 Invaders Arrested at US Southern Border this Past Year by CBP
At least 521,090 nonwhite invaders seeking to parasite off white America have been arrested by US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents on the US-Mexico border this past year ending September 30, a 25 percent increase on the previous year’s number.
According to figures released by the CBP, the arrests included 16,658 nonwhite invaders who arrived in the country in families last month, some 900 more than August and nearly 12,000 more than September one year ago.
It was the highest month for families on record, reflecting a jump in invaders from Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, all fleeing their self-created disaster zones of violence and poverty.
The surge was reported as Trump called an invader column of at least 7,000 invaders marching through Mexico to the southern US border a national emergency and threatened to close the border completely to halt the invasion.
According to reports, Trump’s aides blamed the failure of Congress to change laws that make it impossible to repatriate border crossers from Central America and instead force the government to arrest and then release them inside the United States.
For the full fiscal year, which ended September 30, a total of 521,090 people without immigration documents were apprehended or blocked at the Mexico border.
