I believe this is true for the entire solar system…. The system barycenter is outside the sun's surface layers.

In 2010 Odyssey 2, the monoliths turned Jupiter into a star and aided primitive life on Europa, by 3001 Final Odyssey, that life was nearly intelligent. I need to read those again, it's been years.
